A leading authority on the management issues surrounding business reengineering, organizational change, and corporate renewal, Jim Champy is also the author of the 3 million-copy international best-seller, Reengineering the Corporation: A Manifesto for Business Revolution, as well as Reengineering Management, X-engineering the Corporation, The Arc of Ambition, and Fast Forward. In their recently published book, Reengineering Health Care, Jim Champy and Harry Greenspun, M.D. show how the proven reengineering methodology can be applied in health care to deliver more efficient and better care to more people at reduced costs.

A former chairman of Dell Perot Systems’ (now Dell Services) consulting practice, Champy provided strategic guidance to the company’s team of business and management consultants and played a pivotal role in furthering the firm’s goal to create an approach to services design and delivery unlike any in the industry. Prior to joining Perot Systems, he was Chairman and CEO of CSC Index, the management consulting arm of Computer Science Corporation. He also was one of the original founders of Index, a $200 million consulting practice that was acquired by CSC in 1988. Under Champy, the company’s consulting practice grew at a rate of 25 percent a year.
